A beautiful hotel with spacious environment. It is fitted with every modern amenity there is, and your security is guaranteed. In fact, you can't even access the escalator without a security card. The staff are friendly and professional. The rate is slightly above average but come on, it is worth it all!
I was in CPT visiting my in-laws, stayed at the hotel for five nights and loved it. Room 516 was an upgraded loft room and had some amazing views and sunsets. Service at the front desk was courteous, friendly, and hospitable. Room was very comfortable, duplex level, great shower water pressure, and enough room for a kid to have a rollaway. Excellent location for my travels. All pictures are from the room!
My stay at DoubleTree was nothing short of a disappointment. From the moment I arrived, it was clear that this so-called "hotel" fell far short of expectations. First and foremost, the misleading labeling of this establishment as a hotel is egregious. It's nothing more than a glorified motel at best, lacking the amenities and service standards one would expect from a genuine hotel. The staff's blatant dishonesty only exacerbated my frustration. Throughout my stay, I was consistently lied to, leaving me feeling deceived and undervalued as a guest. This lack of transparency not only tarnished the experience but also eroded any trust I had in the management. The overall condition of the property was subpar, with evident neglect and a lack of upkeep. From worn-out furnishings to questionable cleanliness standards, it was clear that attention to detail was sorely lacking. Adding insult to injury, the shuttle service times were utterly nonsensical, offering little opportunity to truly enjoy a night out. This inconvenience severely detracted from the overall experience and left me feeling trapped in an already disappointing environment. Furthermore, the hotel's location is far from ideal. Situated in a suspect area and not within walking distance of anything worthwhile, guests would be better off staying closer to downtown or Victoria Wharf. For the same price, there are numerous options offering proximity to tourist attractions and a safer, more vibrant atmosphere. It's worth noting that potential guests are doing themselves a disservice by not reading the one and two-star reviews, as they offer more insight into what the hotel is truly like. In conclusion, my stay at DoubleTree was a regrettable mistake, and I urge management to take meaningful steps towards improving both the quality of the property and the integrity of their service. Potential guests should think twice before booking here, as there are far better alternatives available in Cape Town. The Hilton brand should be very embarrassed.
This was my first visit to Cape Town. I stayed at the property for 5 nights and ate breakfast daily at the restaurant. I stayed in the King Suite and loved it! I didn't want to leave. I utilized the shuttle service a handful of times to visit the waterfront area. All of the staff I interacted with was a pleasurable experience. I really enjoyed not only Cape Town but my stay at this property.
The area isn't the best, but it's safe during the day. The staff was friendly, especially Elsa, who was in a good mood at breakfast. The morning offering was quite good. Room service wasn't great, 1 week ago no shower gel refilled, half of the electrics in the room didn't work and weren't repaired.
